Worked in conjunction with a treatment team to provide treatment and lifes skills training. as the counselor in charge of working with the families of the youth. Youth Counselor. Youth and Family Centered Services. Worked on a staff team to monitor and teach adolescent sex offenders. Rossignol International. Team leader and new employee trainer. Led a work team, sought after faster more efficient methods to accomplish warehouse duties. Clearfield, Utah. August 1994 - August 1996.

Small Group Manager. Clearfield Companies. Managed a small construction crew in the construction of a commercial warehouse for Clearfield Companies. Taught building skills. Responsible for crew motivation and work quality inspection. Clearfield, Utah. May 1993 - July 1994.


SPECIALIZED TRAINING

Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) Training.
Six day intensive workshop.Trainied in the use of NLP techniques for utilization in professional counseling and therapy settings. July 1998.

Trained STEP (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting) facilitator. Trained in the use of the STEP program used to teach parenting workshops, classes, seminars. Training was conducted by Dr. Harper Gaushell Founder of ULM community parent training outreach program offering parenting classes to the Northeast Louisiana area. October 1999.

Sex Education Workshop.
Clearfield, Utah. Twelve week, state mandated, sex education workshop for adolescent sex offenders in the custody of Youth and Family Centered Services. March 1998 - June 1998

Parent Teacher Counselor Collaboration. Invited Lecturer.
Teacher Education seminar, Monroe, Louisiana. Served as a panel member at area parent-teacher seminar. Lectured on the topic of the usefulness of marriage and family therapists to parents and teachers in the high school setting. November 1999.

Indigenous Ethnography, Researcher as Subject. Presentation to students and faculty of the Marriage and Family Therapy program at The University of Louisiana at Monroe. October 2001.

Autoethnography, Researcher as Subject. Poster presentation at the Louisiana Association for Marriage and Family Therapy annual conference. February 2002.

Forgiveness as a Ritual in Marital Therapy. Article introducing forgiveness as a ritual to be utilized in therapy with couples. To be submitted for publication in April 2002.

Community Parenting Training. Taught parents communication skills, listening skills, and conflict resolution skills. Parents learned effective discipline techniques and how to work with their childrens' beliefs and feelings. Utilized STEP (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting) material. March 2002 to April 2002.


RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

Understanding the Newlywed experience.
(January - May 2000). Member of a research team headed by Charles L. Cole Ph. D. University of Louisiana at Monroe, Monroe, Louisiana. Conducted in-home qualitative interviews with twelve couples for the purpose of understanding the initial experiences that shape a newly married couples marital experience. Performed simplistic domain analysis to determine themes.

Qualitative Analysis of Latter Day Saint Marriages. (in progress). This project will include the analysis of 8 -10 ethnographic interviews with couples married in Latter Day Saint temples. A search will be conducted for the meanings attributed to the experience. Articulation of themes and implications will be presented.


COMMUNITY SERVICE

Church Young Mens Program.
Monroe area Young Mens President. Structured activities, lessons and service projects for young men in the Monroe area. Taught life skills and moral values during weekly activities and addressed moral and spiritual topics during Sunday services. Monroe, Louisiana. October 1998 - November 2000. Performed a similar services in Ogden, Utah from March 1996 - August 1998.

Scoutmaster, Boy Scouts of America. Taught scouts age 12 to 14 about responsibilities to themselves, their families, their God, their community, and their country. Performed service projects in the community. Ogden, Utah. March 1996 - August 1998.

Inner-City Service Worker
(Volunteer LDS Mission). Washington D.C. and Baltimore Maryland. Performed various types of community service for poverty stricken inner-city people in Maryland. Served as a liaison between state welfare services and the inner-city communities. Performed part time service in the public schools and served in homeless shelters and soup kitchens. February 1991 - February 1993.
