The Marriage and Family Therapy program is dually accredited by both the
Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE)
and the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs
(CACREP). Requirements include 63 graduate hours and 500 hours minimum of
clinical internship. I have currently completed 36 cumulative hours towards my
degree and earned a 4.0 grade point average.

Activities Coordinator for Parent’s Day Off (PDO) Program
Organized and supervised 2 outings a month to provide respite for caregivers and to provide an enjoyable and educational social experience in the community for the children, deemed “at-risk” by regional mental health centers. Outings consist of 15 children ages 5-14, and 4 staff members. Duties also included a skills training component in which I was responsible for discerning some of the needs of the clients then providing psycho-educational materials for them, as well as facilitating discussion groups amongst the children on therapeutic topics.
Part-time Case Management
When not occupied with PDO program, I was responsible for the data entry of service logs in all “crisis” contract cases through an online program known as Mental Health Systems (MHS).
2001-2003 Positive Forces Counseling Network, Inc.
After School Program (ASP) Site Supervisor
Provided academic tutoring, social/life skills training activities, positive reinforcement, and transportation for at-risk youth at community recreation center; met with parents, mental health clinicians, and school personnel regularly to discuss progress/needs of clients; provided one on one intervention at school when necessary; completed daily Progress Notes on all clients in After School and Mentoring Program and maintained the overall quality of those files; coordinated respite/mentoring outings, facilitated therapeutic group activities, and oversaw all operations of After School/Mentoring Program
Family Support Specialist
Planned, conducted, and supervised all aspects of the annual Parent’s Day Off 3-week Summer Day Camp at Kiroli Park with an emphasis on social skills training, arts/crafts, music/dance, physical recreation and psycho-education
Crisis On-call Support
Assisted counselors in all areas with crisis clients, shared 24-hour on-call duties with co-workers to assist families in times of crisis, deescalated dramatic and intense situations, and utilized community resources to aid families/children at-risk.
