· Provide individual, group, family and/or other practical counseling within limitations of experience and education.
· Assist therapists in identifying client’s problems and establish objectives for treatment, and assume management responsibilities for assigned clients
· Observe and evaluate client’s behavior, making assessments of the status of client’s treatment including strengths, progress, problems and needs
· Participate in SCM and other emergency services providing rapid aid in emotional crises, having Chauffeurs license to provide client transportation
· Provide security and general supervision of all residents including living skills training fostering positive behavior in clients Maintain intensive qualifications in ongoing medical and mental health related training this results in over forty hours of topical training annually
VOLUNTEER SERVICE
· Social Work Advisory Council, Evangel University (1997-present)
For five plus years provided leadership and expertise for this program's
national accreditation (and further reaccredidation).
Organized a strong community-based advisory council, establishing the Evangel
University Social Work Program in the
community of social work, including governmental agencies, service providers and
students. Chairman (2001-2002)
· Grief Recovery Workshop for Kids—Research & Development of curriculum
Developed for two audiences; 7-12 age group, and 13-18 age group. This seven-week workshop, initiated Fall 2002, after 9 months of research and development. Therapy highlights include: one-on-one mentoring, play therapy, and journaling. Advertisement in the community and recruitment of teachers in the public school system and counselors in the community made this workshop hosted by a local church, a community-wide success. Future workshops will be available to kids in the community twice annually.
