The Ph.D. program in Marriage and Family Therapy at University of Louisiana at Monroe prepares graduates for careers as
scholars/teachers, researchers, supervisors and senior clinicians. The 69 credit-hour program integrates systemically oriented
philosophy and theory, clinical practice and qualitative and quantitative research.

The Marriage and Family Therapy program at the University of Louisiana at Monroe consists of 66 graduate hours and a 500
hour clinical internship. This program is also the only program, nation-wide, that is dually accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) and the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and
Related Educational Programs (CACREP).

CURRENT WORKING ENVIRONMENTS
Graduate Assistant: Personal assistant to Dr. George E. Rice in Educational Leadership and Counseling department at the
University of Louisiana at Monroe. Responsible for assisting Dr. Rice in his academic research and keeping track of education
tools. (August 1999-May 2000).
Graduate Assistant: Secretarial work at the Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic at the University of Louisiana at Monroe under Dr. Lamar Woodham, Clinical Director and Program Director. Responsible for recording the progress of all clients referred to the clinic by the District Attorney and for reporting those findings to the District Attorneys office on a monthly basis(February 2000-August 2001). Also responsible for all public relations with regard to the clinic at a campus-wide level.
(February 2000-August 2001).Currently training to assume the position of Assistant Clinical Director of the Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic.
EXTERN SITESA+ Academy- Ouachita Parish High School. Counseling for students who are thought to be at risk of dropping out of
school.(August 2000-May 2001)
Go Care- Counseling for HIV positive and AIDS patients.(May 2000-present)
Our House- Counseling for teens who are temporarily living at this Safe Place.(August 2000-May 2001)
CONFERENCES AND CERTIFICATIONS
1999 Joint Annual SSSS/AASECT Conference. St. Louis, Missouri. 7 hours of presentations, sessions, and continuing education workshops. Society for Scientific Study of Sexuality (SSSS) and the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT), November, 1999.
Currently working on a certification for sexual therapy congruent with the requirements of the Marriage and Family Therapy program at the University of Louisiana of Monroe and the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT). This certification requires three courses (nine semester hours) in human sexuality: Human Sexuality, Advanced Human Sexuality, and Sexual Therapy Techniques.

National Deans List Publication: This is a book, which is published annually, that recognizes a select number of students from universities across the nation.
Psi Chi: Professional honor society in psychology.
Psychological Society: Organization for psychology majors.
Top Dog Society: This organization consists of a small group of honor students who, through the use of
telemarketing, attempt to obtain funding for the university from alumni.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
Raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. Upon graduation from a local high school, relocated to Ruston, Louisiana to pursue an undergraduate degree in psychology at Louisiana Tech University.
Currently living in Monroe, Louisiana, with husband and step-son, working towards a Ph.D degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
