Parenting Skills Classes
The University of Louisiana at Monroe Marriage and Family Therapy Program offers a parenting class often. The parent workshop addresses the special challenges of parenting.  Most parents want their kids to assume responsibility for their own behavior at home, school, work, and play. Many parents seek a relationship with their children that is cooperative rather than confrontational and stressful. We believe that the parent-child relationship has the potential to be one of the most rewarding stages of parenting. Parents can develop rewarding relationships with their children and can help them become more responsible for their own behaviors.

This workshop is designed to help parents:

Encourage your child more effectively
Develop skills for listening, resolving conflicts, and exploring alternatives
Improve communication between parents and their children
Learn new and effective ways to discipline
Resolve or prevent challenging problems
