two majors, a love of horses
Kristina Stewart of Lake Charles is a senior majoring in psychology and pre-occupational therapy.
I am involved in Psi Chi (Psychology) Honor Society Secretary, Hometown Hawks and Maroon Platoon. I was involved in Campus Activities Board for two years; I was the group’s secretary for one year. I was also involved in the Student Occupational Therapy Association.
After graduating this May, I will attend graduate school for occupational therapy. I look forward to becoming a respected occupational therapist, and I would like to work in an area of therapy called Hippotherapy. Hippotherapy uses horses, which I love, to rehabilitate all sorts of disabilities and disorders.
My favorite spot on campus is the fifth floor of the library because it is a peaceful area to study, and I can look out at the bayou and watch all the students walking around campus.
One of my favorite professors at ULM would have to be Mrs. Noelle Prestridge of the psychology department. She is always optimistic and encouraging in her teaching style. Mrs. Prestridge taught me to appreciate anything and everything in life.
One of my favorite memories at ULM is the time my parents came to Monroe for the ULM/Grambling football game. We were able to tailgate, watch the game, and go to the after-parties together.
Prior to attending ULM, I was extremely timid and untrustworthy about exploring new things and meeting new people. Attending ULM has helped me come out of my shell and grow holistically as a person. I will always remember the wonderful people that I had the privilege to meet.
