enjoys law, academic success
Larry Shappley is a senior criminal justice major from West Monroe, Louisiana.
I have two older brothers and two older sisters. I am the youngest.
My main extracurricular activity is the ULM football team. I have been on the football team since I enrolled at ULM in fall 2005. This fall I will be a four-year starter on the offensive line.
I plan to attend law school after ULM and become an attorney. I enjoy law and how laws dictate our lives. I enjoy reading and reasoning through situations which are two important components of being an attorney. I am also interested in law enforcement. My major has allowed me to see how law enforcement plays an important role in our daily lives. Either becoming an attorney or working for federal law enforcement would be a career I want to achieve.
My favorite spot is the Student Union Building. I enjoy talking with my friends in there and relaxing from class.
My favorite professor thus far is Dr. John Sutherlin. He is a political science professor. He is highly intelligent and makes learning very interesting. He has the utmost knowledge about politics. I always try to listen to him when he speaks on the radio, and I try to learn as much as I can when he speaks.
I have two favorite memories at ULM thus far. My favorite academic memory is making a 4.0 in the 2007 fall semester. I have come close to making a 4.0 before and finally achieving this goal is satisfying. I look forward to making another one. My favorite athletic memory is also from the 2007 fall semester when the ULM football team beat the Alabama Crimson Tide. It was a great memory - one that my teammates and I will never forget.
ULM has helped me to understand other points of view. College has definitely opened my eyes to new people and ideas. I can truly say that ULM has not only helped me to grow academically, but also has helped me to grow as a person.
