1. Hello, all. Here is the agenda that was used for the TLRC meeting held on Tuesday, September 30, 2008.
2. If you could not come for the quickly announced meeting, please contact me by phone (x3242) by this week so that I can fill you in.

Task Group B (Everyone)
TLRC Workshops
Deadline/Group Coordinator/NamesTuesday, November 14, 2008: Identify a workshop that can be offered by the TLRC. This means identifying a workshop presenter who will do this:
1. Agree to conduct an hour-long workshop, twice. (This eliminates scheduling conflicts.)
2. The presenter will provide you with a file that is used for the workshop handout. It is recommended that the handout be just one page long, on one side. This file will be available online from the TLRC website when the workshop is announced. It should include at least a paragraph or two that describes the workshop. Also, we want to have a brief announcement in an email announcement that is sent to all faculty.
3. The presenter might suggest a venue for the presentation. Or, the TLRC will arrange a venue.
4. The presenter agrees to prepare and pass out printouts of the handout before the workshop begins.
5. The presenter agrees to handle the sign in sheet and the evaluations, if this becomes necessary.
6. Perhaps we can develop a recommended (but not standardized) format for handouts.
7. Upon completion, we want to send a letter of thanks to each presenter. You will need to get the name of the person's chair or supervisor.

Every person on the TLRC committee is expected to find someone who can do at least one workshop, every semester. If you can't find someone, you can do it yourself.
Notes The TLRC GA will handle announcements by email and website (with access to the workshop handout), registration of participants, logistics, recording evaluations, and the documentation of participation. Once we have a "formula", it should go smoothly. Every workshop should be presented twice, at different times and different days. As a goal, we should have, eventually, at least 1 unique workshop every week.
