English Lit II--202-01 (Summer 2006):
Course Requirements and Evaluation Criteria
Your objective is to build toward a possible 1000 points for a perfect score. It takes 700 points to pass the class. You can check your progress toward the final grade using Blackboard's grade utility.
The class grade will be based on four categories:
Attendance [20 each]
Did you do 15 required worksheets as part of daily discussions? Were you present, participating in discussion with Teacher and peers, and paying enough attention to write brief, but coherent responses to daily worksheets?
Response Papers [100 each]
- A description of a Blake plate. 100 points.
- A Thematic Movie Review. 100 points.
These Discussions are most important to the class so each round of Discussion is worth 20 points for a total of 300 points.
2 Sets of Class Notes
Did you do thorough Class Notes for the 2 days of classes you were assigned to do? Typed up and posted to Blackboard email to All Users.
On-line Reading Checks [20 each]
Did you do all the daily multiple choice / matching vocabulary? Emphasis is on character recognition and vocabulary.
Two Objective Tests [50 each]
[Cancelled]
High Speed, on-line tests. Emphasis is on memorization of common and technical vocabulary, dates, map recognition, and character matching.
Tests are completely objective with time-limits restricted so as to make it difficult to look stuff up as you go.
My main question for test evaluation: Can you remember plots, characters, historical facts, and vocabulary for matching and multiple choice questions?
