How to capture a graphic from the Internet and
insert it into your text file
This would be a nice thing to do. Here's how:
- While in your web browser, right click on the graphic you want [sometimes the graphic is protected and not
capturable]
- Choose Save Picture As . . . .
- In the dialogue box that opens, make sure you look and see where you are saving and title the graphic filename as you want.
The following assumes you are using Word, but these instructions work very similarly in other wordprocessing
programs.
- Now go to your text file where you have written your short descriptive essay and place your cursor in the text file where you want to put the graphic [to place cursor, click in the text file]
- In the insert menu in the top tool bar, choose Insert Picture/Graphic, then click From File. . . .
- In the dialogue box that opens, find your graphics file and double click on it [or click to select, then click OK]
- The graphic will be imported.
- You can re-size the graphic by selecting it, holding your mouse cursor at the corner of the graphic, clicking and holding the left mouse button, and moving the mouse.
- You can get the text to wrap around the picture by right clicking directly on the graphic, choosing Format Picture . . . ., Layout, then Tight.
