We follow the same basic pattern several times during the semester

Just like in a resident class where you meet face-to-face, the Internet class expects you to participate in discussions and to do assigned tasks.  

Generally, we will follow a similar pattern of events with each unit or major semester topic:

• Reading on a focused topic.
• A quiz and/or exercises in Blackboard.
• Blackboard discussions and
• Practice applying the topic in exercises geared to reinforce the topic.
• Peer reviews from your teammates.

• A finished product submitted to the teacher or teacher's assistant

Generally a unit topic will last two weeks with seven major topics covered during the semester.  But expect some irregularity in this pattern.  This occasional irregularity makes it very important to review the syllabus and weekly schedule often and be on-line frequently.
