Arranging for a proctor
If you cannot make it to an on-site test, you must still take the test at the same time as all the other students. Tests are scheduled at the beginning of the semester, so you have plenty of time to plan. Most of the time, two tests are scheduled on campus, one during the semester and the final.
If you need to take these on-site tests at a distance, you must arrange for a proctor -- someone to monitor you while taking the test -- on-line at the scheduled time. You need to finalize your arrangements two weeks before a scheduled on-site test.
Here's how:
1. Find a person who will monitor you while taking the test:
A head librarian at a local library
A principal of a local school
The director or manager of a computer-assisted classroom
A college professor in your area
???? Other kinds of people possible; these are just examples
2. Inform the proctor of the time and date of the test and agree on a meeting place with dependable computer.
3. Send Eller your proposed proctor's name and title, email, and contact phone so that he can initiate contact.
4. Wait for Eller's approval.
5. Be at a dependable computer and logged on to Blackboard.ulm.edu at the scheduled time with proctor present.
On-site tests are always scheduled for Saturday mornings.
