How to turn off the one hour default timeout on Microsoft Explorer.

You need to do this to ensure that you can spend 2 hours in a test.  While you are working on tests or doing other lengthy assignments in Blackboard, etc., the internet may not detect any activity and may not know that you are connected, so it may assume that you no longer need the internet connection.  Do the following to prevent automatic shut down of the connection:

• With Microsoft Explorer open, click on Tools in the top bar
• Click on Internet Options
• Click on the Connections tab at the top of the dialogue box
• In the Dial-up Settings box, double click the name of the connection which has (Default) listed after it.
• Click Advanced button
• Make sure that the "Disconnect if idle for . . . " box is not checked.
• Click OK three times to back out.
